Returning from manoeuvres between 4.30 and 5 o’clock yesterday afternoon an Army truck to which was attached a field gun, came to grief opposite the store of Mr H. Knutson. The trailer attached to the truck broke loose and crashed into Mr Knutson’s van in front of his store with such force that it was hurled on to the footpath, a wheel being broken. A verandah post was also broken. Mr Knutson recently had his delivery lorry impressed for Army use and it was some time before he could obtain another one for his business. Mr Knutson himself received bruises and cuts on one arm. National Day of Prayer. Sunday will be observed as a National Day of Prayer.
