LADIES’ HOCKEY
EXCELSIOR CLUB’S ANNUAL MEETING. SUCCESS IN CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITIONS. The annual meeting of the Excelsior Ladies’ Hockey Club was held in the Y.M.C.A. rooms last evening, Mr A. Southey (president) presiding over a good attendance of members. The annual report and balance sheet disclosed a very satisfactory state of affairs. Funds in hand amounted to nearly £3. The president congratulated the club on winning the senior championship for the fifth year . in succession and the junior championship for the fourth time in the past five years. For a club to win nine championships in five years was described as a notable performance. The election of officers resulted;— President, Mr A. Southey; vice-presi-dents, re-elected with the addition of Mr L. R. Wilton; delegates to W.L.H.A., Messrs F. Madsen and D. McKenzie; club captain. Miss R. Harding; secretary and treasurer. Miss H. Rutherford; senior coach, Mr F. Madsen; junior coach, Mr A. Southey. Last year’s committee was re-elected. Misses L. Wilton and E. Reeves were elected new members. The club will have one or two vacancies for junior players and any girl desirous of taking up the game is invited to communicate with the secretary as soon as possible.
