Rear-Admiral Emory Land, . chairman of the Maritime Commission, broadcasting, declared that loafing by a small minority both in the- production line and in the front office was endangering America’s shipbuilding programme. Admiral Land said that although the strike problem was not serious now, “what is serious is loafing. The person who is putting forth less than a maximum effort is a victim of the insidious and infectious deadly digease known as loafing. Every loafer is a saboteur of morale, giving direct aid to the enemy.”
