AIR FORCE RELATIONS

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. BLUE UNIFORM GLOVES REQUIRED. At the monthly meeting of the Air Force Relations Committee, the following members were present: Mesdames H. J. W. Lord (in the chair), SGill, J. A. Betts, P. Nathan, A. Harcombe, H. Rishworth and G. W. Sellar. A headquarters report stated that 500 pairs of blue uniform gloves would be required each month. Experienced knitters are asked to help to make these. Cranwell jerseys, as an alternative to scarves, are also popular with the men. The printed pattern is on order, and will soon be obtainable. A jersey will be among the samples at the Ranfurly Club on Thursday afternoon, when the committee hope to meet all Air Force supporters at 3 p.m. It was decided to take charge of the patriotic shop on April 9 and supporters are asked to bring goods and to buy on that day. After the meeting the committee packed 207 tins of food for overseas, and a box of 44 woollies, consisting of pullovers, balaclavas and gloves. The committee wish to thank the following helpers and donors of tinned food: Mesdames R. Birch, T. Brown, T. Beetham, D. Buchanan, Brickman, G. Beard, E. W. Bunny, J. A. Betts, Burling, S. M. Moore, P. Nathan, E. Norman, J. Payne, Rishworth, Sydney Smith, G. Sellar, Whitton, J. Tatham, D. Thompson, Winzenberg, G. C. Williams, Yorke, Misses McEwan, Nancy McEwan, M. Vallance, McEachen, E. Baird, Butement, W. Nicholls, H. Gill, E. Carey, Langdon, E. Pearce, O. Clark, Messrs J. W. Buchanan, E. Jenkins. Parcels of comforts, knitted garments or tinned foods may be sent to any member of the committee, or left at the offices of Messrs Dunderdale and Gray, Page’s Buildings, Perry Street, Masterton. The parcels will be packed and forwarded to Wellington cn the 20th of every month.
