STOCK MARKET

MASTERTON SALE STORE WETHERS BRING LATE RATES. DEMAND FOR LAMBS. The Masterton Associated Auctioneers held their weekly sale at Masterton yesterday there being a small attendance of buyers. The fat sheep section showed a slight improvement, while the quality of the store sheep was generally of an average standard. Store wethers maintained values well up to, if not above, lates rates. With a small exception, the ewes offered were not up to previous standards and sold accordingly. Good shorn wether lambs sold well, as did top woolly wether lambs, whilst all medium classes of sheep were easier. The quality of the ewe lambs varied, and competition in most cases was not spirited. The following prices ruled at auction: — Fats: B.F. lambs, 245, 23s 4d, 21s Id; wethers, 235, 20s 4d, 20s; ewes, 10s, 10s 6d.
