The Congressional friends of Labour indicated today that they planned to. fight for a drastic limitation of profits on war contracts, to accompany any legislation placing a ceiling on wages. Senators Hill and La Follette, Labour’s leading supporters, expressed their willingness to accept wage controls if these were accompanied by profit curbs, but thought an arbitary ceiling over wages might disrupt industrial machinery incalculably.
