EKETAHUNA
COUNTY COUNCIL MONTHLY MEETING. (“Times-Age’ Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Eketahuna County Council there were present Crs. J. B. Carruthers (chairman), P. Davies, C. T. Richardson, F. M. Goggin, J. P. Petersen, H. N. and R. W. Kebbell, A. L Perry, T. R. Hancock, L. G. Houlbrooke, C. Davie. It was reported that the Waitawhiti Stream bridge had been completed. The Tiraumea crusher was working on the Masterton-Weber Road and weak portions are to be remetalled. A bad corner at the top of Drysdale s Hill 'had been cut away on the EketahunaNireaha Road. Sympathy was extended to Mrs S. M. George in the loss of her son, Sergeant Pilot Hylton George. A letter was received from the New Zealand Counties’ Association asking for an opinion on the question of holding the Counties’ Conference during the coming winter. The council decided that in view of present conditions it was of .the opinion that the conference should not be held. Personal. Mrs Drysdale, Wanganui, has returned home after having spent a few days with her mother, Mrs P. Fauvel, Alfredton Road.
