JAPANESE THRUST
IN CHEKIAN& PROVINCE. FIGHTING STILL GOING ON. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 1.30 p.m.) CHUNGKING, March 15. The Central News says that 2,000 Japanese succeeded in penetrating into Hsiangshan, in the Chekiang Province, 28 miles south-east of Ningpo, after a severe battle, but fighting is still going on. Hsiangshan is important to the Japanese for safeguarding their supply lines to the South-West Pacific.
