There was good racing at Trentham on Saturday when the Wellington Racing Club concluded its autumn meeting. Heavy rain on Friday night gave way to a beautiful sunny day, which encouraged a large attendance and they were treated to an excellent day's sport. The Thompson Handicap was a triumph for Salutation, winning from Premature. The totalisator handled £98,628, compared with £82,847 10s on the second day last year. The total for the meeting was £lBl,OlB, compared with £139,526 10s last year, an increase of £41,491 10s. Cautions were issued to W. J. Stevens, rider of Taane Pango, for allowing his mount to interfere with Sports Flash in the Ngaio Highweight, and to V. Sellars for allowing Cheerful Lady to lag in on Kentucky during the running of the suburban Handicap. Results: — ■
