GREYTOWN
SCHOOL COMMITTEE MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Greytown School Committee was held on Tuesday evening, there being present Messrs H. G. Carter (chairman), F. Dennes (treasurer), R. O’Neale, E. . Galyer, J. C. Morison, Mrs Knell (secretary) and the Headmaster (Mr S. C. Shedden). The Borough Council wrote agreeing to the proposal to divert the water race. Constable Gregor forwarded a report on enquiries made in connection with the theft of onions from the school garden. The headmaster reported as follows: Primary roll, 290; secondary, 39. The slit trenches dug to date would hold 120 pupils. The chairman was deputed to consult with the authorities as to the position in regard to school buses in an emergency. The Headmaster was instructed to arrange for identification discs for the pupils of both the secondary and primary divisions. No Soldiers’ Dance. Owing to the screening of a picture for patriotic purposes there will be no soldiers’ dance on Friday night. TOWN HALL “LADY SCARFACE.” The double feature programme tonight is headed by “Lady Scarface,” a thrilling drama, starring Judith Anderson, and “Carolina Moon,” in which Gene Autry has the leading role.
