MASTERTON BRANCH AFFAIRS RECENT APPEAL. MANY HELPERS THANKED. The monthly meeting of the Masterton branch of the Plunkct Society was held yesterday afternoon, the president, Mrs J. Caselberg, being in the chair. Accounts totalling £54 17s 4d were passed. . / The recent annual house to house appeal, it was reported, had been completed. The sum received totalled £303 15s lid. It was most gratifying to the committee, it was stated, that so many mothers had helped in the collection, as well as past members and friends. It was resolved to write and thank Mr A. Owen Jones for his vaulable assistance in connection with the work of the society. A vote of thanks was passed to the “Times-Age” for publicity given in connection with the appeal and also to the picture theatre proprietors for their assistance. The nurses’ report stated: Masterton: Visits to office, adults 406, babies 395, pre-school children 44; total, 845. Visits to homes, new cases 34, old cases 71; total, 105. Pre-school children seen in homes, 19. New cases for month, town 15. Out-stations: Tinui sub-branch, Blairlogie, Tinui, Tinui Valley, Mangapakeha, 2 visits each; visits to homes, 20. Pre-natal section, new cases, two; casuals, 2; return visits 7. Visits to home, 2; total, 13.
