RED CROSS SOCIETY

COUNTRY DISTRICTS MEETING OF SUB-CENTRE. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The annual general meeting of the Country Districts Red Cross SubCentre was held yesterday afternoon in the Country Women’s Club. Mrs A. Motions of sympathy were passed to Mr and Mrs A. H. Faloon, Mr A. D. Low and all members who had suffered bereavement during the year. The president made an appeal for flour bags, clean of print if possible, for prisoners of war parcels, and for books and magazines for the soldiers’ ward at the hospital. Mrs C. C. There was an excellent exhibition of garments for prisoners of war parcels and overseas relief, and Home Guardsmen's first aid outfits. It was decided that a “Help Your Neighbour” class be formed and commence next Wednesday. Miss Yolando Ruby's resignation was received with regret. The annual report stated that the sub-centre had been doing hospital sewing as well as building up its own emergency supplies. Ruby.
