Mrs G. T. Smith is the guest of Mrs S. Raleigh, Alfredton. Lieut. D. Hendrickson, of Masterton, is spending leave with his brother at Aohanga. The Right Rev J. Davie, of Masterton, has returned from an extensive tour of the Presbyterian parishes in Otago and Southland. The funeral of the late Mr C. Vickers, which took place in Masterton this morning, was largely attended. The service at the chapel was conducted by the Rev David McNeur and that at the cemetery by the Revs R. Dickie and McNeur. Many beautiful floral tributes were in evidence. The pall-bearers were Messrs J. Barr, B. Braggins, H. Burgess, J. Davis, T. H. Fawcett and J. Hendry. The death occurred yesterday of Mrs Alice Margaret Gallagher, wife of Mr J. A. Gallagher, licensee of the Grand Hotel, Hastings. Mrs Gallagher, who was 57, was born on the West Coast, and was the elder daughter of the late Mr and Mrs P. Hallagan. Sh'e was a popular figure in Hastings, and was a valued member of the Hastings Women’s Community Club.
