WAIRARAPA CLUB’S ANNUAL MEETING. SEASON’S PROSPECTS BRIGHT. The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Coursing Club was held last night, the patron, Mr J. H. Payton, presiding over a good attendance of members. The prospects for the coming season were reported to be good while the past year had been successful, financially and otherwise. Officers were elected as follow: — Patron, Mr J. H. Pay ton; president, Mr J. Bradbury; vice-presidents, last year’s re-elected with the addition of Messrs L. A. Keats, F. Yule, Sent., and D. McGovern and Mrs Stowe; committee, Messrs E. Allsworth, J. Hanley. R. Andrew, M. J. Hanley, L. Gray, W. Williams, S. Gerrand, R. Harman, S. Davis, A. Spicer, R. McEwen. F. Yule and S. Potangaroa; secretary, Mr A. F. Hare; hon. treasurer, Mr S. D. Geary; hon. auditor, Mr D. B. Curry. The tentative dale fixed for the opening of the coursing season at Akura was April 18. The club decided to make application to hold the New Zealand championship tin. hare flat and hurdle events. If granted, it was slated that these events would probably be held at Easter.
