PERSONAL ITEMS ("Times-Age” Special.) The many friends of Warrant Officer W. Sturdee, who was in Singapore, will be pleased to learn that he was amongst those who were safely evacuated to Australia. In the personal which appeared m last Friday’s issue a printer’s error was made in connection with the accident to Mr Hume. The reference was to Mr Gordon Hume, eldest son of the late Mr Geo. Hume and Mrs Hume, Masterton. Mr Jack Smart spent the weekend with his parents at Pahiatua. Mrs Atkinson, Auckland, is staying with Miss N. McDougall. Messrs Riwai and Guthrie so far has withstood all challenges for the McDougall Cup played for by members of the local tennis club. Miss Lena Matenga has joined the nursing staff of the New Plymouth Hospital. . , , Mr and Mrs Peter Piwari have taken up their residence in Greytown. Mrs N. Thompson and family are staying with Mr R. Thompson, Turan- & Mr and Mrs Jack Hodges, who were residents here for the past two years, have left for a short stay in Dunedin, after which Mr Hodges will enter Ca Mrs Te Maari is visiting her son at Tologa Bay.
