CHURCH SERVICES

• ALTERATION TO SUNDAY EVENING HOURS. I . Changes in the hours .of holding evening church services in Masterton on Sundays are likely to be made in most churches, consequent on the enforcement of partial blackout regulations. At St. Matthew’s the Sunday evening service now starts at 6 o’clock and after Easter it will commence at 4 p.m. So far. no decision has been reached as to altering the hours of the evening services at Knox and the Methodist churches but the Lansdowne Presbyterian Church is to continue with the 7 p.m. service, as it is possible to blackcut the church and an earlier hour does not suit the convenience of the congregation. St. Patrick's Church has always followed the practice of holding the evening service in the late afternoon in winter.
