MATTER OF TIME
ATTACK ON AUSTRALIA NEED OF RESOLUTE STAND. WORK FOR ALL TO DO. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) SYDNEY, March 8. “The Allied strategy in the Pacific has been worked out in the last week, and great and vital changes have been made in the forces to be used,” said the Minister of Supply, Mr Beasley, in a speech yesterday. “Every Australian must be steadfast in his determination to resist any attempt at an invasion. Time is the only factor we have to deal with and. given time, we shall with our Allies drive the enemy back to Japan. “We must instil into the minds of the people that the policy of retiring to prepared lines is over,” the Minister said. “The stage has been reached when it is only a matter of time before Australians will have to take part in the actual defence of this country. “Great help is coming to this country, but there is work for us all to do here and now.”
