SOLWAY-MANAIA ELECTION OF OFFICERS. COMPETITION RESULTS. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Sol-way-Manaia Women's Institute, Mrs Diamond presided over a large attendance of members and friends. The following officers and committee were elected for the ensuing year:— President, Mrs Diamond; vice-presi-dents, Mrs Henderson and Scrivener; secretary, Mrs Groombridge; treasurer, Mrs Woollett; committee, Mesdames Church, Thompson, Munn, Webber, McGovern and Miss Russell. The results of the competitions were: —Dahlia: Mrs Carr 1, Mrs Webber 2, Mrs Munn 3. Asters: Mrs Munn 1, Mrs Diamond 2, Mrs Carr 3. Best flower: Mrs Munn 1, ■ Mrs Scrivener 2, Mrs Talyforth 3. Fancy biscuits: Mrs Carman 1, Mrs Munn 2. Plain biscuits: Mrs Groombridge 1, Mrs Diamond 2, Mrs Sinclair 3. Sewing, handkerchief: Mrs Webber 1, Mrs Woollett 2, Mrs Munn 3. Article from flour bag: Mrs Munn 1. Miss Russell 2, Mrs Carman 3. Knitting competition: Mrs Allan 1, Mrs Church 2. The programme for April will be: — Cooking, apple short cake; sewing, buttonhole to be worked at meeting; best bloom, collection of weeds arranged for effect; roll call, illustrated proverb. The hostesses arc Mesdames Catherall Senr., Carr, Davies and Lepper.
