PAHIATUA SALE LAMB VALUES REMAIN FIRM. WETHERS IN KEEN DEMAND. The Associated Auctioneers report on their Pahiatua sale as follows:—Lambs and wethers were offered to a large attendance of the public. The lambs offered were mostly medium quality, and values remained firm on late rates. Wethers were in keen demand, and realisations in this section were very satisfactory. Ewes, in common with outside sales, were not in keen demand, but with vendors meeting the reduced limits of buyers, a total clearance was effected. Pigs were again neglected, and passings were frequent. Demand for sheep at Feilding today was quiet but firm, both store lambs and ewes maintaining recent prices. The cattle section was poorly supplied, but what beef was yarded sold well. Wethers made good prices where quality was up to buyers’ requirements, but ewes were inclined to be backward. Lambs made late rates. There was a heavy entry of store ewes and lambs, but prices remained steady under a good demand. Beef enjoyed a strong sale where quality was good. CARTERTON SALE SATISFACTORY LAMB PRICES.
