Nahas Pasha (Prime Minister) has ordered the immediate release of General Masri and the two flying officers with whom he fled. General Aziz el Masri, formerly Chief of the Egyptian Army Staff, has Nazi sympathies, according to a cablegram from London in June. 1941. He attempted to escape from Egypt, with two Egyptian Air Force officers, in May last year. His plane was forced down in the desert and the Egyptian Government offered a reward for his capture. The party were found hiding in a boat on the Nile.
