GADGET FOR TROOPS
MANUFACTURE FROM SCRAP METAL. FREE ISSUE OVERSEAS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. _ A combination razor-blade holder is being manufactured in Wellington from scrap metal plate, to the order of the National Patriotic Fund Board, for issue free to the New Zealand forces overseas, as a substitute for small scissors. The holder was designed by Mr S. Blackley, a member of the Wellington Provincial Patriotic Council and embodies a nail file, nail cleaner, shaving mirror, bottle opener, three-inch scale, and protractor. Mr Blackley has given the board the sole New Zealand rights for the duration of the war. Thereafter any profits in New Zealand from commercial sales are to go to patriotic funds and the Soldiers’ Civil Re-Establishment League.
