ARRIVAL DAMAGED IN RIO AFTER FIGHTING OFF SEVERAL SUBMARINES ONE U-BOAT PROBABLY DESTROYED (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.30 a.m.) RIO DE JANEIRO, March 6. The British liner Ceramic, carrying 360 passengers from Liverpool to South Africa, arrived at Rio in a damaged condition, after fighting off several sub- . marines in a 45 days’ zigzag voyage. The passengers believe that the ship’s guns destroyed at least one submarine.
