There was a full attendance of mem- . bers at the Red Cross Society’s meeting held on Wednesday afternoon, Mrs ; G. S. Sharp presiding. An executive committee was formed consisting of . Mrs Sharp (president), Mrs Hunter . (secretary), Mrs Lawson (treasurer), Miss Card, Mesdames H. Bloxam, W. Feast and V. Bergh. Mesdames R. Watson, I. G. Donald and I. Cross were added to the general committee. A programme was drawn up for sewing and social events, and arrangements were made for the monthly hamper for the Anzac Hospital. The proceeds from the first three card tournaments were donated to the Polish Red Cross Society’s funds. Personal Items. Mrs Willett and family left yesterday to take up their residence in Masterton. Driver Geof. Browne is home on sick leave. Mr Ripley, who has been in the Kelvin Hospital for the past three weeks, is making good progress towards recovery. Mr J. C. Bidwill has lent his residence at Rototawai to be used as a Karitane Hospital for the duration of the wai’ and six months afterwards. Mr William Ross, of Cape Palliser lighthouse, who is an inmate of Kelvin Hospital, is reported to be making good progress and will return to his home shortly. THEFT OF COAL ACCUSED FINED £5. At the Featherston S.M. Court, William Thomas Chasland was fined £5 on a charge of theft of coal. COSY THEATRE TONIGHT’S PROGRAMME.
