The War Production Board has disclosed that a new Mid-Western plant is now mass producing M 4 medium welded tanks, which have greater strength and safety and a lower silhouette than others. The tank carries a major weapon, a 75 mm. cannon, mounted in a revolving turret. The Director of War Production, Mr Harrison, said thousands of the all-wel-ded tanks would be built this year, making up a large part of the 45,000 scheduled by President Roosevelt.
