SALE AT FEILDING DEMAND EASIER, A FALL IN PRICES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING, February 27. The market was inclined to be flat in all departments of the Feilding sale today when another large entry of more than 22,000 head of sheep was offered. The demand fo"r cattle was decidedly easier and sales of sheep did not reach last week’s figures. Fat sheep: A not very select entry of mutton was offered, though some good two-tooths- attracted attention. Ewes were in negligible supply. Prime wethers realised 22s to 23s Id, lighter prime 20s 4d to 21s lOd, unfinished 18s lOd fo 19s 4d, prime two-tooths 22s to 22s lOd, others 18s lOd to 21s lOd; lambs, prime, 23s 'ld, light 17s lOd to 20s lOd, ewes, 6s to 9s lOd. Store sheep: The inquiry for twotooth ewes did not come up to last week’s level and prices were also’ considerably lower. Aged ewes were also backward, with some good pens selling well. Best two-tooth ewes brought 29s to 31s, second grade 26s to 28s 6d, small 23s to 255, good four-year do. 19s to 20s, others 14s 6d to 17s 6d, four and five-year do., best 20s 9d, others 12s 9d to 14s; five-year do., good 16s 6d to 17s 2d, average 12s 6d to 14s, plain 9s to Ils 6d, m.a. do. 15s to 17s 9d, wether lambs 15s.

Store cattle: Run cattle slumped badly in demand and hardly a pen changed hands. Considerable business was done with boner cows, which were in heavy demand. Yearling A.A. heifers brought £3 15s, yearling Jersey heifers £1 15s to £2 ss; boner cows, heavy, £3 to £4, others £2 5s to £2 17s Gd, speyed cows £4. Fat cattle: The beef was practically wholly confined to ex-dairy lines, which were in unfinished condition. The demand was poor. Light prime cows realised £7 7s 6d to £8 7s 6d, unfinished £6 2s 6d to £6 12s 6d; exdairy cows, heavy £5 Js, others £3 17s Gd to £4 17s 6d,' unfinished heifers £5 12s. Pigs: Weaners 7s 6d to 13s, slips 14s to 225, porkers 34s to 445. CARTERTON SALE LATE VALUES MAINTAINED. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report as follows on their Carterton sale yesterday:—A good yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward. Prices were well up to late rates and a total clearance was effected.
