GALLANT FIGHT
MADE BY CRIPPLED DL'TCH BOMBER THREE JAPANESE PLANES SHOT DOWN. FOLLOWING ON DESTRUCTION OF OTHERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.30 a.m.) BANDOENG. February 25. A crippled Dutch bomber, with a crew of four, in a running fight shot down three of four Navy Zero fighters which attacked it, after it had destroyed three grounded Japanese bombers on an aerodrome near Palembang. The Dutch bomber was riddled with bullets. One engine and the retractable undercarriage were put out of action, but the pilot made a successful forced landing in rough country. None of the crew were injured.
