MASTERTON EWE FAIR

EASING IN VALUES RECORDED. EARLY SALES OF TWO-TOOTHS. A definite easing in values was recorded when the opening pens were sold at the second Masterton Ewe Fair today. An offering of well over 20,000 ewes came forward and the condition of the sheep was well up to the average. It was considered in some quarters that the uncertain prospects regarding primary produce generally contributed in some measure to the easing in prices. Early sales were: — Two-tooth ewes: A/c G. and J. Moore, 250 at 26s Id, 132 at 255; a/c Mrs C. Elgar, 350 at 265; a/c Lady Fergusson, 306 at 28s; a/c George Shaw, 163 at 24s Id; a/c Kumu Kumu, 161 at 20s 3d; a/c Morland Station, 224 at 20s Id.
