REGENT THEATRE
“THIS ENGLAND.” The spirit that makes the people of England unconquerable, the spirit that has its roots deep down in English soil, plays the star role in “This England,” which will be shown tonight. It expresses the centuries of inbred determination of the village farmer to fight for his own land and his own independence. The history of English farmland is told in brief cameos, right from the time of the Norman conquerors to the Napoleonic wars. The featured players are Emlyn Williams, Constance Cummings and John Clements. The supporting programme is excellent.
