NEW ZEALAND MISSION TO AUSTRALIA STATEMENT BY PREMIER. CLOSE MUTUAL INTERESTS AND TIES. (By Telegranh—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Reference to the visit to Australia of the Minister of Supply, Mr Sullivan, and Mr Coates, Minister in the War Cabinet, was made yesterday by the Prime . Minister, Mr Fraser. He said that the purpose of the visit to Australia was to enable the two members of the New Zealand War Cabinet to confer with the Australian War Cabinet on questions of mutual defence. Means of assisting the war effort of both countries would also be discussed, and strategy and supply would be considered. Mr Fraser added that the talks that were taking place and would probably take place in the future would include consultations with Admiral Leary, the American commander of the Anzac area. “The people of New Zealand and Australia are bound closer than ever in face of the common danger that threatens them, and the visit of Mr Sullivan and Mr Coates to the Commonwealth is one of the many exchanges that will probably take place between representatives of the Governments and defence staffs of the two countries,” said Mr Fraser. A Canberra message states that the New Zealand envoys, Messrs Sullivan and Coates, attended a meeting of the Advisory Wai’ Council in Canberra yesterday. Today New Zealand technical advisers will confer with Australian experts.
