While watching a time-bomb disposal squad in action, a spectator congratulated a Cockney soldier on his courage and disregard of danger. “There ain’t no danger, guv-nor,” said the Cockney, “and I don’t do nothink brave. Another bloke takes the fuses cut. I only sit on the bomb to keep it steady!”
