TWO ATTACKS BY JAPANESE BOMBERS Four Brought Down CONSIDERABLE PROPERTY DAMAGE SEVERE BLOW ON AUSTRALIAN SOIL LONDON, February 19. Two air attacks wore made on Darwin today. The first raid, which lasted an hour, was made by 75 bombers escorted by fighters. The second raid was made by 21 bombers, four of which were brought down. The damage to property was considerable. No details about the loss of life have been given so far. Although shipping in the harbour was bombed the main attack was made on the town itself. The Government, said Mr Curtin, regarded the attack as most grave and it was clear that a severe blow had been struck on Australian soil.
