AIR OFFENSIVE
NORITLWEST GERMANY AGAIN RAIDED TWO COASTAL COMMAND PLANES MISSING. ENEMY BOMBER SHOT DOWN. • LONDON, February 18.
Last night a small force of our bombers raided North-West Germany. All the planes returned safely, but two Coastal Command planes are missing from patrol operations yesterday. An enemy plane dropped bombs on the east coast of Scotland without causing damage. R.A.F. fighters carried out a number of offensive patrols over Northern France today. Factories, locomotives and a searchlight position were hit. None of our aircraft are missing. An enemy bomber was shot down off the East Coast. An Air Ministry communique states that shortly after midday, an enemy plane dropped bombs on the East Coast. A small number of people were killed and some damage was done to houses.
