HOSPITAL CONTROL

MEETING OF WAIRARAPA BOARD VOLUNTARY AID TRAINING. AGE LIMIT RAISED. The monthly meeting of the Wairarapa Hospital Board was held today, the chairman, Mr H. H. Mawley, presiding. The board confirmed the appointment of Staff Nurse Cunningham as junior sister, and the promotion ■of Nurses Walker, Rowlands, Robinson and K. Smith to staff nurses. The staff of Pahiatua Hospital was congratulated on its efforts in raising during the year the sum of £75 Ils 3d for patriotic purposes. The board agreed to purchase 50 dozen pairs of stockings for resale to members of the nursing staff. It was decided that the age limit of voluntary aids should be raised from 40 to 45 years, and that payment of travelling expenses be agreed to, payment of salary to be at the rate of 9d per hour if living in, with an additional £1 per week and meals whilst on duty if living out.
