WATERING OF PLANTS
♦ A SIMPLE METHOD. For plants such as tomatoes, marrows, pumpkins and cucumbers it is a good idea to sink a plant pot alongside each plant to the ground level. When filled with water it reaches the roots without any wastage and prevents the root system coming to the surface as , is the case with a light surface watering. With the larger plants such as pumpkins and marrows a half benzine . tin with a few nail holes punched in ■ the bottom will be found admirable.
