ENJOYABLE CONCERT
GATHERING AT SOLWAY. A POPULAR PROGRAMME. Mrs Miller Hope’s concert party gave a most enjoyable concert at Solway on Saturday night to a very large attendance. The programme, which was of a popular character, met with the warmj approval of the audience who continuously demanded encores. It was the first official concert party arranged by the Patriotic Committee. At the conclusion of the concert the performers were entertained at supper. The programme was as follows: “Opening Chorus,” Interhouse girls’ choir (Misses Isa Vincent, Leo Miller. Audrey Keisenberg, Grace Tooby, Nora McMullen, Helen Bannister, Hira Tauwhare, Florence Bellis, Noeline Wickens, Sheila Kennedy, Mura Prescott, Ola Curry, Audrey Bilderbeck, Mollie Iveson, with Mr Miller Hope at the piano); solos, Miss Hira Tauwhare (accompanist, Mr Miller Hope); selections on the steel guitar, Mr Frank Pool, accompanied on the piano by Miss M. Iveson; Irish jig, Miss Nora McMullen; songs, Mr Wm. Mann (accompanist, Mr Miller Hope); recitations, Mrs Robert Miller; part songs, Miss O’Donnell, Mrs G. Burke, Messrs Mann, Simpson and Couper /accompanist, Mr Miller Hope); selections,Orchestra; songs, Miss Dorothy O’Donnell (accompanist, Mr Miller Hope); selections on the steel guitar, Mr. Frank Pool, accompanied on the piano by Miss M. Iveson; songs at the piano, Interhouse girls (pianist, Miss M. Iveson); community sing and final chorus (pianist, Mr Miller Hope).
