SALE AT FEUDING s ■ STRONG DEMAND FOR STORE ’ LAMBS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING, February 13. 5 The market at Feilding today was i inclined to be patchy, mutton and ■ store cattle being backward in de- ’ mand, while store sheep and beef sold ; well. The yarding of store sheep 1 was heavy, but the market held strong, f Quotations are:— J Fat sheep: Little change was shown I in prices for mutton, but the tendency • of the market was downward. Store sheep: There was a strong sale shown for good quality lambs, best grades of ewe lambs making prices comparatively better than two-tooth ewes. The wether lamb demand was also strong. Good ewe lambs realised 24s 6d to 265. Best wethers, 17s lOd to 19s Id; best black-face wethers 16s 5d to 19s; good two-tooth ewes, 29s 9d. , Store cattle: A fair number of cattle were yarded and were in indifferent condition, but practically everything , was sold, though the price was backward on record sales. Forward A.A. bullocks, £8 9s to £8 10s; 2-3-yr A.A. ‘ steers £7 to £7 14s; 2-yr A.A. steers, best, £6 3s to £7; yearling A.A. steers, good £5; fat and forward A.A. heifers £7 15s. Fat cattle: Beef met a keen sale at steady prices, the yarding comprising some well-finished run female and ox beef. Medium prime ox made £9 17s 6d to £lO 17s 6d; medium prime cows, £8 2s 6d to £8 17s 6d. Dairy cattle: A light entry sold at slightly improved values. Pigs—Good weaners, 12s 6d to 16s 6d; small, 6s 6d; small slips, 20s; small stores, 26s to 30s; light porkers, 35s 6d. CARTERTON SALE PRICES ON PAR WITH LATE RATES. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report as follows: —A good yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward at our Carterton sale yesterday. Prices were on a par with late rates and a total clearance was effected under the hammer. The following are some of the realisations:— Sheep: Fat wethers, 21s, 235, 23s 4d to 24s 6d; fat ewes, 10s to Ils; fat lambs, 19s 9d, 225, 22s 3d to 24s 3d; fat S.D. ewes, to 13s; fat b.f. 2-ths. to 245; 2-th. ewes, to 30s; 2,4, and 6-th. ewes, to 18s 6d; 5-yr. ewes, 9s to 10s 7d; 6-yr. ewes to 9s Id; extra good woolly ewe lambs, to 21s 7d; woolly ewe lambs, 16s Id, 16s lOd to 16s lid; small ewe lambs, 10s lOd to 11s Id; good woolly wether lambs, to 16s lOd; b.f. lambs, 15s 2d, 16s to 16s Id; medium woolly wether lambs, Ils 4d, 12s 2d, 12s 4d to 14s; m.s. lambs, to 12s Id; small wether lambs, 8s 4d, 10s Id to 10s 4d; shorn wether lambs, to 13s Id. Cattle: Jersey heifers on drop, £9 10s, £lO 10s to £11; Jersey heifers, just calved, £11; springing cow, £9; fat cows, £5, £5 ss, £5 10s, £5 16s ' to £6 17s 6d; forward cows, £3 10s, £3 15s, £4, £4 5s to £4 10s; store cows, £2 10s to £3 2s; cows and calves, to | £3 8s; heifer calves, to £2 15s; bulls, to 10s.
Pigs: Baconers, to £3 16s; heavy porkers, £2 7s to £2 10s; porkers, 375, 395, £2 to £2 ss; light porkers, 32s to 345; store pigs, 265, 27s 6d, 28s 6d, 29s to 30s; weaners, good, 15s to 18s; medium, 12s 6d to 14s; small, 10s, 10s 6d to Ils; sow with litter of 9, £4. MARTINBOROUGH EWE FAIR RESTRICTED VALUES. The Associated Auctioneers report on their annual ewe fair, held at Martinborough yesterday, when about 3000 ewes came forward. There was a fair attendance of buyers, including a few from other districts. As was the case on the previous day at Masterton, buyers seemed to be operating on restricted values, which appeared to favour buyers. Although several pens were passed at auction, these were disposed of afterwards.

Warren Estate, 225; A. H. Brentnail, 21s; small 2-tooths, 13s 6d to 17s. 5-year ewes: A/c. Mrs F\ R. Bunny, 16s lOd; M. A. Finlayson, 16s 3d; R. E. Wall, 16s; C. H. G. Hewitt, 15s to 15s 6d; C. J. Nix, 15s; W. B .Martin, 14s 6d. 6-year ewes: A/c. D. V. and K. Cameron, 12s i 6d. Other m.a. ewes: 10s Id, Ils 6d, 13s 3d to 13s Bd.
