NEW METHOD
OF REMITTING MONEY TO SOLDIERS SPECIAL LODGMENT SLIP. ANNOUNCEMENT BY DEFENCE MINISTER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. In order to facilitate the handling and despatch of remittances to members of the forces overseas, the Minister of Defence (Mr Jones) announced, a special Public Account lodgment slip' will be put into operation at branches of the Bank of New Zealand on February 16. A separate lodgment slip will be required for each individual to whom money is remitted, except in cases where remittances are made to groups of persons in the same service. There will be no necessity to write letters, as in the past, to notify those to whom money is being forwarded, as provision is made on the lodgment slip for this information. There have been cases where a lodgment slip has been sent by a relative to a soldier, but' this action is wrong and has caused much inquiry and investigation. '
