HOME GUARD.
APPEAL FOR SHOVELS AND PICKS. Platoons having been allotted their respective districts to defend and prepare for emergencies, the local Home Guard is urgently in need of picks and shovels, axes and clean kerosene tins, in connection with such operations. The Guard is very thankful for past contributions of various kinds, and would much appreciate donations of the above articles, which could be left with Mr R. Page, supply officer, “Page’s Corner,” Queen Street.
