GIRL GUIDES
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. MAKING OF CAMOUFLAGE NETS. At a recent meeting of the executive committee of the Masterton Girl Guides’ Association, a motion was passed thanking the trustees of the Daniell Estate for their generosity in putting at their disposal the shop in which the Girl Guides and helpers are carrying on the essential work of making camouflage nets. The Daniell Estate also fitted up the room with racks for the nets, and presented needles, etc., and the Wairarapa Power Board was supplying lighting free so that the work could be carried on at night as well as by day. It is due to the action of these two bodies, as well as to the Commissioner and to all those guides and others who so generously give up their time, that Masterton ranks as one of the most active netting centres in the Dominion. The room is full to capacity most of the time, but there are occasionally a few vacancies and anyone desirous of helping may still apply at the shop and arrange for lessons.
