HOMING PIGEONS

MASTERTON CLUB. RACE FROM WAIPAWA. The following was the result of the Masterton Homing Pigeon Club’s race, held from Waipawa (a distance of 88 miles): —E. Wickens and Sons’ “Ramona,” 3 hrs. 25 min., 1; I. Mayes’s “Young Reliance,” 4 hrs. 52 min. 41 sec., 2; E. Wickens and Sons’ “Lady Dainty,” 4 hrs. 56 min. 11 sec., 3. In the points competition, J. Mayes and R. Stewart still lead with 19 points each, while E. Wickens and Sons have 17. The race next week will be from Napier (125 miles airline distance).
