The end of the second day’s play in the Centennial Cup cricket match at Eden Park on Saturday between the Auckland and Wellington representative teams saw the home team in a strong position with a lead of 162 runs on the first innings, Wellington thus having failed to save the follow-on. Wellington scored 307 (Menzies 74, Osborn 58, Mooney 44) in the first innings, and has 14 up for no wickets in the second. WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION BIDWILL CUP WON BY OLD BOYS. The final match for the Bidwill Cup was concluded on the Park Oval on Saturday afternoon, when Old Boys defeated Red Star by 91 runs on the first innings.
