0 FLAXMAN SENTENCED. LIFE IMPRISONMENT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, February 5. The trial of Charles Henry Flaxman, farm labourer, aged 34, .who was charged with the murder of his wife, Marion Beatrice Flaxman, aged 25, at Moa Flat on November 18, concluded in the Supreme Court today before Mr Justice Kennedy. After a retirement of two hours 50 minutes, the jury returned a verdict of guilty, and Flaxman was sentenced to life imprisonment with hard labour. Continuing his address on behalf of Flaxman, Mr Stevens said there was no vestige of motive and there could not be intent without motive. The only possible explanation was a mental boilover.
