IN VARIOUS NETHERLANDS AREAS DAMAGE TO NAVAL FLYING BASE BRITISH MINELAYER MISSING. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.25 a.m.) LONDON, February 5. A Batavia communique stales: The enemy has continued his action in various regions of the Archipelago. There is relatively little to report of the action around Balik Papan but it is learned definitely that the commander at Balik Papan with a number of his men have succeeded in fighting their way through the enemy troops and have reached safety. In south-east Borneo the enemy has continually carried out light bombardments. There was a new air attack on Surabaya this morning, in the . course of which fires were started at the naval flying base, causing some damage to material. No particulars are available as to the situation at Ambon and Kendari. It is assumed that the minelayer Prins Van C. Anje, which at the time of the attack on Tarakan was station- ' ed there and which, after having carried out its last orders, tried to escape from superior enemy forces, has not succeeded in doing so.
