CHINESE SUCCESSES
ON CANTON AND OTHER FRONTS. JAPANESE SUFFER HEAVY CASUALTIES. (By Telegraph— Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.50 p.m.) CHUNGKING, February 4. The Chinese have captured three towns near Yochow in the Hunan Province, from which the Japanese launched their recent disastrous thrust on Changsha and have seized two villages on the Canton-Kowloon Railway. Other successes are claimed at Nanchang, in Kiangsi and in Northern and Central Hupeh. The Chinese have also seized Chengmuktou, 30 miles from Hong Kong. The Japanese suffered heavy casualties.
