BUILDING SOCIETY
WORKMEN’S FRIEND NO. 2. MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the directors of the Workmen’s Friend No. 2 Building Society was held last night, Mr Wm. Kemp presiding. There were also present: Messrs E. H. Morton, C. W. Walker, A. V. Dixon, A. E. Hubbard, S. M. Gilding and T. B. Braggins. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs H. L. Price and E. J. Brown. Accounts amounting to £1 5s 6d were passed for payment. Particulars of securities offered for two recent appropriations were approved. The secretary was instructed to advise the Society’s solicitors to prepare the necessary mortgages. The secretary reported that the balance of an appropriation had recently been paid off in full. The secretary announced that he had invested in a National Savings Account an appropriation of £4OO on behalf of a member. The secretary was instructed to take immediate steps to obtain a war damage risk cover over all properties under mortgage to the Society. It was stressed that members should advise the secretary immediately if they on their own behalf had completed insurance in this direction. It was resolved that directors’ meet ings be held at 7.30 p.m. in future.
