NO RECOGNITION
OF QUISLING GOVERNMENT ! DECLARATIONS IN SWEDISH ' PRESS. 1 VIOLATION OF INTERNATIONAL LAW. L 1 (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) I (Received This Day, 12.40 p.m.) ; STOCKHOLM, February 3. The Swedish Press-repudiates in ad- . vance the German pressure on Sweden and other neutrals to recognise Quis- [ ling’s Government in Norway. The ■ “Allehanda” says Quisling’s appointment is an unconstitutional German at- > tempt to obtain recognition and will ; not change the fact that the conven- : tions of international law have been l trampled underfoot. The Norwegian , people have not been asked for their • approval. From Sweden’s viewpoint, ’ collaboration with Quisling is un- - thinkable. i The “Svenska Morgenbladet” says it would be unprecedented for a revolutionary government, promoted by a ! foreign Power, to obtain recognition in . the middle of a war, especially when ; a lawful Government is functioning • under a constitutional monarch. The [ German Quislingists are hoping for a ; fantastic Utopia.
