CAMOUFLAGE NETS
MANUFACTURE IN MASTERTON. MORE WORKERS WANTED. The District Commissioner for Girl Guides (Mrs Alex McKenzie) reports that excellent progress has been made in the manufacture of camouflage nets at the Masterton depot. Throughout the holidays upwards of 60 Girl Guides have put in many hours in the manufacture of these nets and with the help of members of the Lady Galway Committee, the Girls’ Interhouse Association, teachers and other willing workers much useful work has “been done. Many thousand square feet of netting has already been sent forward to the authorities. The manufacture of these nets is urgent war work and the demand for the finished work is almost unlimited. Now that the Guides have returned to school many more workers are required and all those willing to help will be welcomed at the depot. By calling at the depot, Queen Street, beginners may make arrangements for lessons and help in a very necessary war work.
