OUTPUT OF BEAUFORTS IN AUSTRALIA PRODUCTION ALSO OF NEW TYPE OF BOMBER. MR CURTIN'S ANNOUNCEMENT. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) MELBOURNE. February 2. The first results of the reorganisation. of aircraft production were announced by the Prime Minister. Mr Curtin, today, when he said that the War Cabinet had given authority for an increased output of Beaufort planes. They would also embark upon the production of a new type of bomber aircraft. The imme'diatc cost of the new programme was a little more than £5,000,000. The new bomber would be of Australian design and would be made almost entirely from Australia s own resources. _____
