WOMEN’S BASEBALL
TOURNAMENTS ABANDONED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGANUI, This Day. “The Management Committee of the New Zealand Women’s Baseball Association has decided to abandon the i New Zealand interprovincial and club championships, which were to have been held in Palmerston North early in March,” said the secretary in Wanganui today. The reason for this decision, said the secretary, was the inadvisability of taking girls from their work, much of which was connected with the war effort. It was added that communications have been received by the Management Committee from affiliated clubs, urging this step.
