BOMB MURDERS
NINE PERSONS KILLED IN WEST AUSTRALIA EXPLOSIONS IN DWELLING & HOTEL. SUPPOSED FEUD AMONG FOREIGN ELEMENTS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) KALGOORLIE (Western Australia). February 2. Nine persons, seven of whom are believed to be Yugoslavs, were killed and several injured in bomb outrages at Boulder early today. The first explosion occurred just af- ’ ter midnight at a private house in the town, when a bomb came through the window and wrecked the dwelling. Seven persons were killed outright, and two of those who were injured died later in hospital. The second outrage was perpetrated a few minutes later at a delicensed hotel about 150 yards away, where it is believed gambling was in progress. Two men and a woman were injured in the explosions which occurred in these premises, and the roof and a brick wall were blown out. A man was observed in the backyard lighting a bomb fuse and was seen to hurl the bomb into the kitchen. Another came from a different direction. The occupants had a very lucky escape. The bodies of the men killed in the private house were so badly mutilated that identification is difficult. All the injured in this explosion are in a serious condition. English-speaking Yugoslavs are co-operating with- the police investigation of the crime and arrests are expected. The police suspect the bombings to be the culmination of a feud among a foreign element, comprising mostly Yugoslavs, Italians, and Czechoslovakians, who have recently been brawling in the goldfields centres. The home of a goldfields magistrate was recently bombed, but nobody was injured. _______
